For Dan Gill, storytelling has always been about connection. After over 50 years as a dedicated social studies teacher at Glenfield Middle School in Montclair, New Jersey, Dan understands the power of stories to inspire, educate, and bring people together. Now, as the debut author of the heartfelt children’s book No More Chairs, Dan is excited to extend that connection beyond the classroom—and into the hearts and homes of readers everywhere.

Here on Dan’s official website, building a relationship with readers is more than just a goal—it’s a mission. Whether you’re a parent, educator, student, or fellow storyteller, we want you to feel a part of this journey from the very start.

One way we foster that connection is through regular Author Updates. These blog posts will give you a peek behind the curtain—offering personal insights from Dan, reflections on his teaching and writing process, updates on events and appearances, and news about what’s coming next. Think of it as an open invitation to be part of Dan’s continuing story.

But we don’t just want to talk to you—we want to talk with you. That’s why we’re launching a Question of the Day series right here on the blog. These simple but meaningful prompts are designed to spark thought, reflection, and conversation. Whether they make you revisit a childhood memory, share an act of kindness, or think about what allyship means in your own life, we want to hear from you.

Your voice matters here. In fact, we’re making space for it through Reader Submissions. If you or your children have a story, poem, memory, or lesson inspired by No More Chairs or the values it promotes—compassion, inclusion, and standing up for what’s right—we invite you to share it with our community. Everyone has a story worth telling, and Dan is honored to offer a platform where those voices can be heard and celebrated.

And for those looking to bring Dan’s message to life in person, we also offer a simple way to Book the Author. Whether you’re planning a classroom visit, school assembly, library program, book club discussion, or community event, Dan is available to speak, answer questions, and connect directly with your group.

At the heart of it all is a simple but powerful belief: stories create connection. That’s what No More Chairs is all about. So let’s keep the conversation going. Join us for updates, respond to the Question of the Day, share your words, and help us grow this vibrant community of readers, thinkers, and changemakers.

Let’s build something meaningful—one story, one chair, and one connection at a time.
